Bernard Challen Webber the son of the pastor, who demonstrated an act of heroism rescuing many people from the destructive storm. As a child Bernard wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and become a pastor like his father. He always said that the salvation of people was God's providence. Bernard was a member of the United Methodist Church in his hometown. He was a very humble Christian who tried to avoid praise in his own honor. For the rest of his life he sincerely believed that the miraculous rescue was done by the Lord and he was just an instrument in His hands.
