Mozart considered Handel the greatest master of choral art: he created a new genre in music - the English Oratorio. Probably, each of us heard the famous chorale “Hallelujah”, which has been performed by Christians of all faiths for more than 300 years.From the age of nine, the future composer took organ lessons. At the age of 12, he began to write church cantatas and organ plays. In 1702, he studies law at the university and at the same time serves as an organist in one of the Protestant cathedrals.
Over time, the composer moved to Hamburg, where he wrote several of his famous works.
After a while, Georg Handel went to Italy, and then to London. When he was only 20 years old, his music was loved by many people in Italy and in England. People even fought for the opportunity to get to the concert of the great maestro.When George Handel turned 50, he went bankrupt, and his popularity began to fade. Once the composer received a letter from one of his fans. The envelope contained quotes from the Bible, one of these Bible verses touched the composer's heart very much. These were the words: “Comfort, comfort My people, saith the Lord.” After this, Georg Handel began to create with new inspiration.
His music in this period was dedicated only to God, and it was at this time that he wrote his famous chorale “Hallelujah”.
