William Thomson king of victorian physics

William Thomson
king of victorian physics
He formulated the first and second laws of thermodynamics, investigated that there is a lower limit of temperature “absolute zero”. William Thomson - author and inventor of nearly 70 patents.
In 1848, the scientist introduced the "absolute thermometric scale." Since 1851, Thomson has published a series of scientific articles entitled "On the Dynamic Theory of Heat." In these articles, the scientist considers the first and second laws of thermodynamics. For two years, together with James Joule, he investigated the phenomenon, which today is known as the "Joule-Thomson effect."
He became the first scientist to study electrical vibrations, and it was no coincidence that he was invited to become the chief scientific consultant in laying the first transatlantic cables, which were designed to create a permanent telegraph connection between the two continents.
