As the head of the country, Bush was remembered as a politician who could find a compromise. He was a supporter of tax cuts and a zealous fighter against terrorism. Bush also advocated for more active church involvement in social work. In 2004, Bush was elected US President for the second time. He once remarked: “As a child, I wanted to become an astronaut, but I had to study a lot, so I became president.”Since 1977, he has been married to Laura Bush (the president’s wife first worked as a teacher and librarian). The couple has two twin daughters - Barbara and Jenna.
In 2005, George W. Bush was assassinated. The attacker threw a grenade into the stands, where there was the President of the United States and the then head of Georgia. Although the grenade was combat, it still did not explode.Bush and his wife are members of the Protestant Methodist Church. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Bible Museum in Washington, in his greeting, George W. Bush said: “When I was president, I read the Bible every day. It is easy to be faithful only when you have problems, but maintaining faith when all is well is not easy. Faith fills my principles and decisions. ”
