And his whole life and martyrdom is a great example of the struggle against evil. Martin Luther King forever imprinted his name in history as a great fighter for justice.
The future justice activist felt racial injustice from the early years of his life. Often, white-skinned children did not want to play with him, and mom explained why this happens ...During the march in Wington, Dr. King delivered his most famous speech, “I Have a Dream.” It was the triumph of the great orator and freedom fighter: that day the whole civilized world heard him. In this famous speech, King proclaimed: “We consider it obvious that all people are created equal. "I have a dream that one day on the beautiful hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down at the fraternal table."
In 1964, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The life of this great leader was cut short unexpectedly and tragically. April 4, 1968 in the city of Memphis, when Martin Luther King was standing on the balcony of the hotel, he was mortally wounded. Over time, he died. As a sign of respect, more than 100 thousand people came to the funeral.
In 1983, the US Congress constitutionally recognized the legacy of Martin Luther King, announcing the third Monday of January as Martin Luther King Day. This is a federal holiday in the United States and a public holiday.
